Testimony – A Story of a Pastor from India

My Testimony

“Greetings to you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Thank you for the opportunity given by you to share my testimony of salvation. I give thanks to our living God who elected me to do His will and purpose in this World.

My name is V. John babu, born and brought from Christian family as a second generation Christian. We are five in our family and I am the youngest one. I have two elder sisters, father and mother. My parents were Hindus until I born. My parents wanted son to be born after my two elder sisters. They visited lot of Hindu temples and went to pilgrimages by believing in god and goddesses. In the same way they believed in Jesus with doubting heart.

There is a church near to our house. One day my parents were approached pastor and shared the problem that they had. The church pastor invited and prayed for the need of my parents and started to visit our house weekly and used to share the word of God. My parents became more interested in hearing living word and slowly started to attend in church services. They decided that if they get son they will dedicate to the Lord’s ministry and they accepted Jesus as their personal savior and got baptized in the name of the Father, the son, and the Holy Ghost. And all the church believers and pastor were praying for my parents’ son to be born. They wept and prayed by believing in God. Miraculously, God heard their prayer and they begot son. That’s me.  

My birthday is on December 25. They became happier and dedicated me to the service of our Lord Jesus Christ as they had promise with God.  In this way I was born in this World. After that God called my parents to do His work and they started small church with vision given by God.

After this I grew up in church and attending in all the church services and Sunday school programs. I played an important role in church by using my talents given by God such as playing drums and singing songs and serving the Lord. Especially God gave me talent in leading the people to church. I used to bring all my Hindu friends to church and introduced to church. In this way gradually I had grown up but there was no peace in my life and I did not get satisfaction in any area of my life. In one side I was doing all these activities in church and another side I felt that some powerful forces were pulling me back and stumbling-block to me. Slowly my interest in church activities came down. But I was attending in church services and playing drums, singing, and helping to church. Many times my parents spoke with me about the goodness of God in my life and the way I was born. Many times my parents cried because of me.  They dedicated me to His service but I was concentrating more on Worldly things. But I understood that the dark forces and evil powers never win against the power of Living God. 

When I was 15 years old I was almost dead by the serious attack of Jandis and Malaria fever which is very dangerous to kill the human being. Parents were so much of worry and asked God to heal me. And church members’ were praying constantly. They took me too many hospitals and spent lot of money. And the doctors suggested my parents to take to famous hospital. But my parents brought to church and laid me down and praying. Anyone those who see me used to think that he will be no more. But finally, God heard the prayer of Church and my parents. “Miraculously God touched and healed me and gave life back!!. Amen! Nothing is impossible to our God”. After this healing I sat down in my knee and repented for all my mistakes and I thanked God.

I accepted Jesus as my personal savior who can give me an eternal life. I gave my complete life to serve Him and took decision to draw many people to Him.  I showed myself to all the doctors we visited only to explain the love and the power of God. They were amazed and said “This is the miracle of God”.  They became Interested to hear the word of God and I often used to visit them and talk about the God. Praise God! They accepted Jesus as their personal God and now they are attending in church. But due to their work they are in another place and worshipping God in that place.

God has been performing many wonders in my life. All my Hindu friends in schools and colleges they came to know about the miracle and visited me.  I was able to preach Gospel to them.  They confessed their mistakes before God and repented. They started to come to church. When I see this in my life my faith and commitment became stronger to serve our living Lord. 

After this I went to theological college to know more about Jesus and all the things about the Bible and its books.  I worked in the campus by taking care of field and cleaning all the premises and finally completed my studies. I could complete my studies in this way.  This is only by the faith and love of God.

I am serving God in our own churches.  I stated new church among the poor and needy. Many orphan children here and spending their life with out school education and proper life style.  Blind beliefs, witchcrafts and worshipping are their life styles.  When I see their lives and condition I heard the call of God in my life strongly to serve Him by serving the people. By the grace of God ministry is going on well here and number is increasing. We are in need of permanent place for church to worship our Lord Jesus.

Along with that I have been using my musical talents to glorify God and communicate the Gospel effectively. I am praying for the direction of God to reach the unreached people with the love of Jesus Christ and through His Gospel.”
